Board Exam 2011

It's been more than 7 months since our deadly Metallurgical Engineers Board Examination; where out of 40 examiners, 33 successful young minds passed the exam.

I have received a lot of blessings since then. A LOT.

About a week after our Oath Taking, I started my work as a Management Engineer Trainee at Philippine Associated Smelting and Refining Corporation (PASAR Corp.). The training lasted for 6 months, which passed by so quickly. By February, after our training, we were assigned at our respective departments where we would be extending our service for the next years. We have to stay in the company for at least 2 years--BOND.

With my work here at PASAR, I was able to help my family, financially. Despite missing them and a lot of other close acquaintances in Manila, I accepted the work here. Well, it's my choice. Even though my parents somehow disagreed with me taking up higher studies (which was my greatest desire while in college) and encouraging me to have an "experience" first, it was still my decision. I can't blame them. Any result of my decision I made last year would be under my accountability. I think grad studies would be out of my plans na..

Anyway highway, why did we arrive there?hahaha

Well, I just wanted to post these articles I have seen in the internet.

Truly, college life is not easy. I'm done with my 5 years in undergraduate schooling. I'm not sure if I'll be pursuing graduate studies in the next years.

I hope my younger bros (who are bugoys) will also excel in any field that they love. I won't be forcing them to take up Engineering also, any course that they want, I will support them.=)

Hope I would continually be an inspiration to other people. I just have to be myself (who I really am) and be the best that I can be. I'm sure, that's what matters the most.

just missing the Old Days..

Well, I'm almost done with my part for our case study and I was kind of bored from all the encoding and  presentation making that I did since early this day.

So I browsed thru my FB pics and smiles shaped my lips as I saw some pictures showing events in my life, especially during College. Oh, I miss school, I never thought I would miss UP.hahaha

I remember myself a year and a half ago, often thinking when could I start working coz I got really bored (or maybe excited coz soon I could have my own income na) during my final year in college.

relaxed night.RN.

This is my first pahinga since this year began. Exams, requirements, papers, and a lot of other tasks piled up when classes last January continued. I did not cram, coz I'm not used to, it's just that mentors really love to torture their students during the start of the year. Anyway, I'm not complaining, I'm loving all of the works, actually.=) I love learning a lot of things, just don't mention all of the stress I've experienced.^_^

I have three classes today. First is from 7-8:30am (EEE 3 lecture) , which I wasn't able to attend coz I arrived at my dormitory at around 7:30am na. Second class is from 9-10am (Geology 40 lecture). Dr. Arcilla discussed about the chemical composition of minerals and how to identify them. Third class is Geology 40 laboratory from 10-1pm. We finished the exercise on mineral identification till past 1:30pm, which really drained all my brain cells. Fourth class should be Plant Design from 1-4pm, but Doc Judge allowed us to discuss our project among ourselves, that's why we just had a brief meeting at our dormitory. Meeting ended around 3:30am. I was appointed as the treasurer, even though I want to be the sexy-tary, pasaway sila!=)

It was then that I was able to have my lunch /slash/ dinner. After eating a lot, my consciousness left me and I fell asleep. I woke up around 6pm. I checked the internet, good connection (there's wi-fi here) but there's nothing much to do -- emails: none, FB: none, ldsT: none, blogspot: pwede.=) I browsed through my page and thought that it was a kind of boring.

So here I am, modifying the design, and adding some apps while typing this entry. Oh, I am also looking for stuff that can help us with the Sunday Evening Discussion this 27th of February, right now.

Ngayon ko lang naalala..haha I have to research pala for the final process flowsheet  which will be the basis of our Plant Design miniature model. AND, contact Arzielle about our EEE 3 proposal reporting on Monday. Whew, these can be done later.hihi

This week is our school's fair pala. It's called as UP FAIR, and is held every third week of February every year. I attended one night last year and I did not like it,  DID NOT, really! I love music, but not the loud type [actually, right now I'm listening to some old songs, which are more pleasant to hear.=)]. Lots of booths which range from henna tattoos to statement shirts to a wide variety of foods can be seen inside. There's also a ferris wheel, a wall climbing spot and a mini zip line beside the stage.

Okay, that's it.=)

"De-Flesh"

I had my Arkiyoloji 1 class at 8:30 in the morning kanina.

One of the topics my wonderful professor, Dr. Villanueva, discussed was about Forensic Anthropology. He said that its difference from Forensic Archaeology was that it concentrated only on studying bones.

So, the first thing to do if you'll be conducting Forensic Anthropology is to "de-flesh" the cadaver. He asked us if we have any ideas how they "de-flesh". No one among my classmates tried to guess. Then he said that one option is to boil the cadaver. Second is to use insects that will eat up the flesh and leave the bone clean.

But they don't do the second option since it consumes a lot of time. That means that they do boil a lot of cadaver, just like cooking bulalo. @_@

Boiled cadaver has a distinct smell daw. You'll instantly know if a cadaver is on the stove once you smell that distinct odor.

My professor has boiled and de-fleshed a lot of cadavers na. And he just got used to it.

No Classes in PH

Due to the undesirable event last night, there's no classes in AS (Palma Hall) today, which includes the main Palma Hall building, Chemistry Pavilion and Physics Pavilion.

According to my roommate (again), something in the Organic Laboratory started the fire. I'll check what really caused the fire later...

What Happened to Chem Pav?

It's around 12mn right now.

I was awakened by the unceasing sound of sirens. When I looked at the window, I saw a lot of lights outside. I thought it was a parade, for it's June 10 today, and like it's UP foundation day celebration. I don't know, but that really was the first thought that came into my mind.

My roommate was also awakened by the sounds. She asked the people outside what happened, then told me that Chem Pav is on fire. Just then I realized that the sirens and blinking lights outside are from the fire trucks. From my view, I saw at least seven (7) fire trucks along the street where the Pavilions are located.

Luckily, our dormitory was not affected. We'll see what really happened to Chem Pav, later. I hope no personnel was injured, a prayer for that would be the least thing I can offer for now. Also, I hope I can go back to sleep again...

1st Semester Schedule

My wednesdays and and fridays for this semester will consist of: Arkiyoloji 1, IE 3, ES 12 (oh yeah, I ♥ this subject!☺), and PI 100.

From my Arkiyoloji class in the 4th floor of AS, I need to fly to Eng'g for my IE class (an elective), which is at the 5th floor of Eng'g. Then lunch break (yeah!♥). ES 12 will be for 2 hours every Wed and 3 hours every Fri. Lastly, I have to fly back to AS again for my PI, which is only at the 2nd floor of AS (whew!).

For this semester, Friday is my haggard day. Go, go, lezah!☺ No more red marks on your TCG for this semester, huh?
